Vintage Denim
Genuine deadstock and pre-loved denim from the decades when denim actually meant something. High-waist Levi's, bootcut Wranglers, acid-wash Lee. The real thing — not a distressed reproduction.
Curated vintage and retro fashion from the 60s through to the 90s. Every piece has a story. Every decade has a soul. Find yours in the heart of Carmarthen.
We are Retrospect Vintage — a carefully curated vintage clothing shop in the centre of Carmarthen. We believe fashion doesn't belong to the present alone. The best clothes were made with care, built to last, and designed with a boldness that modern high-street pieces rarely match.
Every item on our rails has been personally selected. We scour car boot sales, estate clearances, market traders, and specialist dealers across Wales and beyond to bring you pieces worth owning — not just wearing once and discarding.
Whether you're after a genuine 1970s sheepskin coat, a faded concert tee from the 1980s, or a sleek 1990s slip dress, you'll find something remarkable here.
See What's In StockEach decade brought its own rules — and its own rebellion. Hover over an era to discover what makes it unmistakeable.
From rare designer pieces to well-worn band tees with genuine history — our stock turns over constantly. New arrivals hit the rails every week.
Genuine deadstock and pre-loved denim from the decades when denim actually meant something. High-waist Levi's, bootcut Wranglers, acid-wash Lee. The real thing — not a distressed reproduction.
Original tour and album tees from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Faded, worn, and absolutely unrepeatable. We don't stock reprints — everything has provenance and wear that tells a real story.
From 60s shift silhouettes to 70s maxi bohemia, 80s cocktail drama, and 90s minimalist slip dresses. Occasion wear with actual character. Curated for wearability and quality of construction.
Authenticated pieces from heritage labels — Jaeger, Aquascutum, Burberry, and more. Each piece is checked for authenticity, condition, and provenance before making it onto the rails.
The pieces that define a decade. Sheepskin coats, leather bombers, trench coats, oversized blazers, denim jackets with patches. Welsh weather demands a proper coat — we have the best of them.
Belts, bags, scarves, sunglasses, and jewellery that complete the look. Sourced from the same decades as our clothing — so everything works together without looking costume-y or thrown together.

We stock only pieces we genuinely believe in. No junk, no filler, no overpriced tat dressed up with a safety-pin label. What you find on our rails has been assessed for condition, quality, and character before it ever goes out.
Have vintage clothing worth more than a car boot sale price? We buy and accept consignment from individuals with quality pieces. Bring your items in and we'll give you an honest, no-pressure assessment. No appointment needed — just walk in.
No appointment needed. Walk in during opening hours with your items. Washed or unwashed — we'll handle it either way.
We check condition, authenticity, and current demand. We'll explain what we can take and why, with no jargon and no pressure.
You'll receive a clear, fair cash offer. Take it or leave it — no hard sell, ever. We'd rather you feel good about the exchange.
Accepted offers are paid on the same day. Cash or bank transfer — your choice. Quick, clean, and done.
The most sustainable garment is one that already exists. Every vintage piece purchased is one less new garment manufactured — and with the fashion industry responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions, that matters.
We've never stocked fast fashion. We never will. What we do instead is find things that were made properly, from materials that last, and put them back into circulation where they belong.
Shopping vintage isn't a compromise. It's often the best quality you can buy — at a fraction of what the equivalent new item would cost, if you could even find it at all.
Shop SustainablyWe keep clothing in use and out of landfill. Every item we sell extends a garment's life by years — sometimes decades.
No new production, no new packaging, no new emissions. The supply chain ends before it begins.
We source locally wherever possible, supporting Welsh sellers and keeping money within the community.
We'd rather sell you one excellent piece than ten mediocre ones. Curation is everything — for your wardrobe and the planet.
New arrivals. Styling ideas. Behind-the-scenes sourcing trips. All of it — before it hits the shop floor.
@retrospectvintage.carmarthenFound the most incredible 1970s sheepskin coat in here. The kind of thing you couldn't find anywhere else in Wales. Absolutely mint condition. I've had more compliments wearing that coat than anything I've bought new.

Sold a bag of 80s stuff I'd been holding onto for years and got a genuinely fair price without any fuss. The owner knew exactly what everything was and explained the offer clearly. Will definitely be back with more.

My daughter and I spend more time in here than we probably should. The stock genuinely changes every time we visit. Found two original concert tees last visit that she's absolutely obsessed with.

No appointment needed for buying or selling. Walk-ins always welcome.
Our primary shop is the physical space in Carmarthen — we love the browsing experience and want to keep it special. New arrivals are previewed on Instagram, and we occasionally take enquiries via DM for out-of-town customers.
Vintage sizing runs differently to modern clothes. We include actual measurements on every item — bust, waist, hips, length — rather than relying on the original label size alone.
We encourage you to try pieces before purchasing. Because stock is one-of-a-kind, we generally don't offer returns — but speak to us if there's a genuine issue and we'll always try to resolve it fairly.
Yes. We accept all major debit and credit cards as well as cash. Apple Pay and contactless are both welcome.
We add new items every week, often more frequently. Follow us on Instagram for real-time updates on what's just arrived.
No appointment needed. Walk in during opening hours and we'll assess your items while you wait. Busy periods aside, it's usually a quick and relaxed process.
We look for good condition, authentic vintage origin (pre-2000), and genuine demand. Labels, age, and construction quality all factor in. Even without a label, we can usually identify authentic vintage.
We'll tell you honestly why a piece isn't right for us — whether that's condition, era, or current demand — and suggest where else might be worth trying.
Yes. If you have a large collection to clear, contact us via Instagram or pop in to discuss. We can visit in person for larger collections within Carmarthenshire.
We consider current resale market values, condition, rarity, and demand. We're transparent about our process — you're always welcome to ask how we arrived at a figure.
Drop your email and we'll send a monthly round-up of standout new stock. Nothing else — just the best pieces before they disappear.
