Our Story
A craft rooted
in Welsh stone
We are a small, independent workshop nestled in the Ceredigion countryside
a few miles from Aberystwyth. Everything we make begins as a raw piece of
Welsh slate and ends as something that will last a lifetime.
Welsh slate has been quarried and crafted in this part of the world for
centuries. We carry that tradition forward, working with the same material
that once roofed the towns and villages of Britain — only now shaped into
objects for the home, for celebrations, and for the moments that deserve
to be remembered.
We do not use mass-production machinery. Each piece is cut, ground and
engraved by hand in our workshop, which means no two pieces are ever
identical. The natural grain, the faint silver seams, the slight variation
in depth and tone — these are features, not flaws.
"Slate is one of the few materials that improves with age.
It weathers graciously, keeps its markings sharp, and carries a sense
of permanence that modern materials simply cannot replicate."
