Siop Ffoto has been part of the fabric of Aberystwyth since 1987. What started as a small camera and film shop on the high street has grown into the town's most trusted destination for photography services, professional printing, bespoke picture framing, and everything in between.

Our passport photo service is one of the quickest and most reliable in Ceredigion. We use professional studio lighting and a calibrated camera setup to ensure every photograph meets the strict requirements set by the UK Passport Office, DVLA, and overseas embassies.
Unlike photo booths, every set we produce is checked by a member of our team before it leaves the shop. If your application is rejected on the grounds of the photograph, we'll produce a replacement set at no additional charge — that is our guarantee.
We also keep a digital copy on file (with your permission) for 12 months, so if you need a duplicate or an online submission image, we can supply it quickly.
Every set of passport photographs we produce is reviewed by our staff against the current official guidelines before handing them to you. If your application is ever refused on the basis of the photograph, bring the rejection notice back to us and we will produce a fresh set completely free of charge.
We use professional-grade inkjet and lambda printing technology with archival pigment inks to produce prints that stay vivid and sharp for generations.

Our framing workshop is at the heart of what we do. Every frame we build is cut and assembled by hand on the premises by our experienced craftspeople. We do not send your artwork away to a third-party factory — it stays with us, under our care, from the moment you bring it in.

Old photographs deteriorate over time. They fade, crack, tear, and suffer water damage. Family portraits from decades past can look tired and lost. Our photo restoration service uses professional digital retouching techniques to repair and revive damaged images to a standard that often exceeds the original.
Every restoration is carried out on the premises by our experienced team. We work from a high-resolution scan of your original photograph, so the original is never at risk. You approve the restored version before we produce the final archival print.
Your original is always safe. We work exclusively from a scan. Your original photograph is returned to you unchanged at the point of collection, along with the digital restoration file on request.

We'll give you an honest price before any work begins. No hidden costs, no surprise additions. For framing and restoration, we show you material samples in person.
Your job is handled in our own workshop on the premises. We keep your artwork safe and treat every piece with the same care we would give our own belongings.

No appointment is needed. Simply walk in during opening hours and we will have your passport photos ready within ten minutes in most cases. If you are bringing a baby or young child, it is worth calling ahead so we can have the space and equipment set up.
We accept JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and RAW files from all major camera manufacturers. You can bring your files in on a USB drive, memory card, or transfer them via email or a shared link. We can also print directly from your phone if needed.
Most standard framing jobs are completed within five to seven working days. During busy periods (Christmas, graduation season) it may be slightly longer — we will always give you a realistic timescale at the time of ordering. Rush orders can sometimes be accommodated; please ask.
We frame a very wide variety of items — watercolours, oil paintings, prints, maps, certificates, sports shirts, medals, embroideries, children's artwork, and three-dimensional objects. If you are not sure whether we can help, just bring it in and we will take a look.
It is almost always worth asking. We have restored photographs that were heavily torn, severely faded, water-damaged, and badly foxed. Bring the original in and we will give you an honest assessment of what is possible and what it will cost before any work begins.
We stock accessories that fit Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, and Panasonic cameras as standard. If you need something for a less common brand, we can usually order it within two to four working days. Give us a call with the specific item and we will check availability.
We are primarily a walk-in shop, but we can accept orders by email and post them out to you for a small postage charge. For framing work, we prefer to discuss your project in person first, but initial enquiries by phone or email are very welcome.
Absolutely — Welsh is the first language of many of our staff and we welcome customers who prefer to communicate entirely in Welsh. All services can be discussed, ordered, and confirmed in Welsh. Mae croeso cynnes i bawb.
We are located in the town centre, easily reached on foot from the sea front and the train station. Parking is available nearby in the town centre car parks.
