A warm, nurturing home environment in the heart of Tenby where your child is cared for, encouraged, and celebrated. CIW registered. First aid trained. DBS checked.
I have been a registered childminder in Tenby for several years now, and I still wake up every morning genuinely excited about the day ahead. There is nothing quite like watching a child figure something out for the first time, or hearing them belly-laugh at something that only makes sense to a three-year-old.
Before childminding, I worked in early years education and quickly realised that smaller, home-based settings were where children truly flourished. Less noise, more attention, real relationships. That is what I wanted to offer.
My home is a safe, welcoming space where children learn through play, exploration, and plenty of fresh Pembrokeshire air. I keep my numbers small deliberately -- every child deserves to be known, not just supervised.
Activities aligned with the Welsh Foundation Phase framework, covering personal development, language, maths, creative development, and physical skills -- all through play.
Daily outdoor time, weather permitting. Tenby is our classroom -- beach walks, castle visits, park play, nature hunts. Children learn so much more when they are moving.
Painting, drawing, music, messy play, and crafts. I encourage creativity without templates -- your child's butterfly does not need to look like mine.
Simple Welsh words and songs woven into daily routines. Bore da, diolch, and counting to deg are part of our everyday vocabulary.
Freshly prepared lunches, snacks, and teas. I cater for allergies and dietary requirements. No processed food -- just honest, healthy home cooking.
I can drop off and collect from local Tenby schools and nurseries. Fully insured, car seats appropriate to age and weight provided.
A quiet, comfortable space for babies and toddlers to nap. I follow your home routine as closely as possible for consistency.
Photos, updates, and a summary of your child's day. You will never wonder what they had for lunch or whether they napped well.
Every day is different, but here is a flavour of what your child might experience.
Children arrive at their own pace. Coats hung up, shoes swapped for slippers. Free play while everyone settles -- building blocks, puzzles, books. A gentle start to the day.
Settling InWe gather for a Welsh "bore da" song, check the weather, and talk about what we will do today. Children help choose activities -- their voice matters here.
Language & SocialStructured and free play activities. This might be painting, sensory trays, baking, water play, or number games. Babies have tummy time, sensory exploration, and songs.
Foundation PhaseRain or shine, we get outside. The garden, the park, or a walk along the coast path. Puddle jumping is encouraged. Wellies are essential.
Physical & NatureHome-cooked lunch around the table. We practise sitting together, using cutlery, and trying new foods. No pressure, no fuss -- just good food and good company.
Nutrition & SocialLittle ones nap in their own cosy space. Older children enjoy quieter activities -- stories, jigsaws, drawing. Everyone needs a moment to recharge.
Rest & WellbeingMore outdoor time or creative play depending on the group's energy. School-age children arrive for after-school care. Healthy snack and a chance to unwind.
Creative & ActiveCalmer play as the day ends. Parents receive a handover about their child's day -- what they ate, what they enjoyed, any milestones. Goodbye hugs all round.
TransitionI deliberately keep my ratios low so every child gets genuine one-to-one time. This is not a nursery -- it is a home, and your child will feel that difference.
You know your child best. I want to hear about their quirks, their fears, their favourite things. The more we communicate, the better I can care for them.
Children learn when they are curious, not when they are forced. I follow their interests, ask questions, and create environments where discovery happens naturally.
Before a child can learn anything, they need to feel safe. Building trust and attachment is the foundation of everything I do.
A secure, fully fenced garden with age-appropriate equipment -- climbing frame, mud kitchen, water table, and plenty of space to run. All surfaces child-safe.
A bright, well-organised playroom with resources rotated regularly to maintain interest. Zones for imaginative play, reading, creative arts, and sensory exploration.
A quiet, darkened room with individual cots and rest mats. Each child has their own bedding. Temperature monitored. Sleep checks recorded.
A family kitchen where children can be involved in food preparation and baking. We eat together at a child-height table -- mealtimes are social times.
The beach, the harbour, Castle Hill, the walled town -- Tenby is a magical place to grow up. We make the most of this incredible setting throughout the year.
Sarah is quite simply brilliant. Our daughter was so shy when she started and within a few weeks she was running in without looking back. The activities are thoughtful, the food is amazing, and Sarah genuinely cares. We could not ask for more.
Both our boys have been with Sarah since they were babies. She has been a constant, loving presence in their lives. The outdoor time is fantastic -- they come home muddy, tired, and absolutely beaming. That says it all.
As a single mum returning to work, finding the right childminder was everything. Sarah made the transition so gentle for my little girl. The daily photos and updates give me such peace of mind. I genuinely feel like she is with family.
We moved to Pembrokeshire not knowing anyone. Sarah was recommended by another parent at the school gate and she has been a lifeline. Our son adores her and has made wonderful friends in her care. Worth every penny.
