Reclaimed Shelving & Wall Units
Built from old floorboards, scaffold planks, and salvaged timber. Wall-mounted or freestanding, sized to fit your exact space.
Bespoke furniture and unique home pieces crafted from reclaimed timber, repurposed finds, and vintage materials. Every piece tells a story — we just continue the chapter.
Tucked into The Arcade on Cardigan's historic High Street, Reworx Wales is a working workshop and retail space where skilled hands transform reclaimed, repurposed, and vintage materials into genuinely unique furniture and home pieces.
Nothing here comes from a flat-pack box. Every table, shelf, lamp, and cabinet begins life somewhere else — old floorboards from a Georgian farmhouse, scaffold planks from a demolished building, industrial metalwork found at salvage yards across West Wales. We see the potential where others see waste.
Our workshop is open to the public Monday to Saturday. Come and browse the ever-changing collection of ready-to-take-home pieces, or sit down and talk through a bespoke commission — we love nothing more than bringing a client's vision to life in reclaimed materials.
"We don't make things that look rustic. We make things that are rustic — built from materials with genuine history, given a new purpose for the next generation."
From statement dining tables to delicate wall shelving, our collection spans a wide range of furniture and home accessories — all made from materials with a past.
Built from old floorboards, scaffold planks, and salvaged timber. Wall-mounted or freestanding, sized to fit your exact space.
Dining tables, coffee tables, and side tables. Each top is a unique slab of reclaimed wood — no two the same.
Pipe fittings, copper conduit, and vintage shades repurposed into statement industrial and mid-century lighting.
Chunky benches from reclaimed oak railway sleepers, bar stools with industrial pipe legs, and upcycled vintage chairs.
Upcycled vintage cabinets given new hardware and finishes. Bespoke built-in storage from reclaimed panels.
Reclaimed timber frames, old window frames, and vintage ironwork given new life as striking wall mirrors.
We source our materials from demolition sites, salvage yards, auctions, and the generous people of West Wales who know that something old deserves better than a skip.
Old floorboards, roof joists, scaffold planks, railway sleepers, and barn timbers. Hardwood and softwood, oak, pine, elm, and ash. Each piece is degreased, de-nailed, and finished to bring out its natural grain and patina.
Steel pipe, copper conduit, cast iron brackets, and salvaged industrial fittings. We weld, grind, and finish metalwork in-house to produce raw, honest structures with genuine industrial character.
Old drawers, vintage doors, antique hardware, retro light fittings, and curious objects found at car boot sales, estate clearances, and junk shops across Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
Solid furniture that has seen better days — stripped, repaired, reupholstered, and refinished. Where possible, we keep the original character whilst giving the piece decades more life.
Welsh slate offcuts and reclaimed flagstones used as tabletops, shelving surfaces, and decorative inserts. Hard-wearing, genuinely Welsh, and beautiful in their raw form.
There is no such thing as waste. There are only materials waiting for someone who can see what they could become. That is the principle on which Reworx Wales operates.
Before we buy new raw materials of any kind, we ask: can this be achieved with something reclaimed? Almost always, the answer is yes. The occasional bit of new steel, a new bolt here and there — but the soul of every piece we make is old material given new purpose.
This matters environmentally, obviously — every tonne of timber we use is a tonne not sent to landfill and a tonne of new timber not felled. But it also matters aesthetically. Reclaimed wood has a depth and character that new wood simply does not possess. The knots, the saw marks, the old paint, the wear — these are features, not flaws.
We source materials locally wherever possible, building relationships with demolition firms, salvage dealers, and individuals across West Wales.
Every piece of timber is de-nailed, cleaned, assessed for structural integrity, and matched to the most appropriate use in the workshop.
Bespoke pieces are designed in close collaboration with the client. Ready-made pieces are designed around the material — letting it dictate the form.
We use natural oils, waxes, and hard-wearing finishes. Delivery and installation available throughout West Wales.
If you can picture it, we can probably build it — in materials that already have a life behind them.
Our bespoke service is straightforward. You come to us with an idea — a rough sketch on a napkin, a photo from a magazine, a precise set of measurements, or simply a mood and a space — and we work with you to design and build something that fits perfectly.
There is no minimum or maximum size. We have made tiny bathroom wall shelves and enormous ten-seat dining tables. Every commission starts with a conversation, and there is never any charge just for talking it through.
Come into the workshop or contact us by phone or email. No pressure, no charge — just a conversation about what you have in mind.
We provide a clear, itemised quote before any work begins. What you agree to is what you pay — no hidden charges.
We will show you the actual reclaimed materials we propose to use — you choose what feels right for your project.
We deliver and install throughout West Wales. Further afield can be arranged — just ask when you enquire.
Every piece that leaves our workshop is unique. Here is a glimpse of some recent work — the stock changes constantly so it is always worth visiting in person.

Plan Your Visit"Absolutely stunning dining table. We gave them a rough brief and they came back with something that exceeded our expectations entirely. The old timber has marks and history that you simply cannot replicate with new wood. It is the centrepiece of our home."
"I popped in on a whim and spent an hour just looking around. Bought a coffee table that was already made and it looks incredible in our sitting room. The quality is exceptional and the price was very fair for what it is. Already planning to go back for shelving."
"Had a bespoke fitted wardrobe made from old floorboards they sourced themselves. The communication throughout was brilliant — they kept us updated and delivered exactly on time. The wardrobe is genuinely beautiful. Proper craftsmanship."
Plenty of places sell furniture. Very few make it this way. Here is what sets Reworx Wales apart.
Because we work with reclaimed materials, no two pieces are ever identical. When you buy from Reworx Wales, you own something genuinely unique — not a mass-produced item that exists in ten thousand other homes.
We are a local, independent workshop. Buying from us keeps money in the local economy, supports a small business, and means you can actually visit the place your furniture was made and meet the person who made it.
Reclaimed timber has already proven it can last generations. We build to the same standard. Our pieces are not designed to be replaced in five years — they are designed to outlast the people who buy them.
Every piece we make diverts material from landfill and reduces demand for new timber. It is not greenwashing — it is just the logical thing to do when there is already so much good material in the world going to waste.
The furniture industry is one of the largest contributors to deforestation and landfill waste. We think there is a better way.
When you buy a piece from Reworx Wales, you are not just buying furniture. You are actively participating in the circular economy. The timber in your new dining table might have been a factory floor in the 1950s, or floorboards from a Victorian terrace. It has history — and now it has a future.
We do not use cheap chipboard or MDF in our reclaimed pieces. We do not import materials from overseas if we can source them locally. We do not use finishes that off-gas harmful chemicals into your home.
All timber is sourced from demolition, salvage, or private donations — never newly felled.
We use natural oils and waxes as a first choice for finishing; no harmful synthetic solvents.
Off-cuts and sawdust are reused or composted — workshop waste goes to landfill only as a last resort.
We source metal fixings and hardware from local suppliers and salvage wherever possible.
Local delivery routes are batched together to minimise transport mileage and emissions.
Cardigan is a beautiful market town on the Teifi estuary in Ceredigion. While you are here, Reworx Wales is the perfect stop for something genuinely local and unique to take home.
We welcome visitors. Come and browse the stock, talk through a commission idea, or simply have a look around the workshop. No appointment necessary during opening hours.
