The Pembrokeshire difference

We are not a faceless booking platform. We are local people who live, walk, and swim here — and we care deeply about your stay.

Truly Local Knowledge

We know the hidden coves, the best crab sandwiches, which beaches are quieter on school holidays, and where to watch the seals at low tide. We share it all.

We Answer the Phone

A real person picks up. Before, during, and after your stay. No bots, no ticket queues. If there is a problem, we fix it — usually before you even notice it yourself.

Personally Inspected

Every cottage on our books has been visited, tested, and approved by us. The photographs show what you will actually find. No nasty surprises on arrival.

Flexible Booking

Short breaks from three nights, off-peak midweek options, and long-stay discounts. We work around you, not around a rigid system that ignores how people actually plan holidays.

What guests say

We let the feedback speak for itself. These are direct quotes from verified guests.

The Lookout was everything the listing promised and more. Woke up to seals on the rocks below. The owners had left a local guide with their own handwritten recommendations — that level of care is rare.

St Davids · August 2024

We brought two labradors and they had an absolute field day. Enclosed garden, footpath straight off the terrace, and the owners pointed us to a stretch of beach we would never have found on our own. Already booked again for next year.

Rachel O.

Solva · June 2024

Ty Mawr Barn for a family reunion — ten of us from scattered corners of the country. The barn is genuinely stunning, the hot tub was ready and spotless, and getting through to an actual human being when we had a query was refreshing.

James & Claire H.

Marloes · September 2024

A short October break that turned into a love affair with Pembrokeshire. We had no idea the coast path was right there. It is our fifth time back and we have tried three different cottages. The quality is consistently excellent.

Fiona W.

Tenby · October 2024

Driftwood House is special. The views at dawn are something you do not forget. Very well-equipped kitchen, generous welcome basket, fast broadband for the laptop. We managed three mornings of surfing at Newgale before breakfast.

Tom & Nadia K.

Broad Haven · May 2024

Booked a midweek short break on rather short notice. The response came within the hour, they sorted the booking over the phone and sent clear directions. Refreshingly straightforward. The cottage itself was immaculate.

Born and raised on the Pembrokeshire coast

We are not a national agency with a call centre in another city. We are local people who love where we live and want others to experience it properly.

Pembrokeshire Coast Cottages was founded because we were frustrated. Too many beautiful properties were being listed on faceless platforms by people who had never set foot inside them. Too many holidaymakers were arriving to find photographs that bore little resemblance to reality.

We inspect every property before we list it. We photograph them ourselves. We write the descriptions. We stay in many of them ourselves. When you call us, you speak with someone who has been inside the cottage you are enquiring about.

Since starting in 2009, we have helped thousands of families, couples, and groups of friends find the right cottage at the right time. We take enormous pride in that. It is why so many guests come back year after year.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the things people ask us most often.

The simplest way is to fill in the enquiry form on this page, or to call us directly on 01437 700 900. We prefer a conversation — it means we can genuinely match you with the right property rather than just processing a transaction. Once you are happy, we will send a booking confirmation and invoice for your deposit. The balance is due six weeks before your arrival.
We require a 25% deposit at the time of booking. If you cancel more than eight weeks before your arrival date, the deposit is forfeited but you owe nothing further. Cancellations inside eight weeks may be liable for the full balance unless we can relet the dates. We strongly recommend taking out holiday cancellation insurance. We are happy to recommend providers.
Around 18 of our properties explicitly welcome dogs. Each listing makes this clear. Most dog-friendly cottages accept up to two dogs with a small pet supplement — usually £25 to £40 per dog per stay. Please tell us when you enquire, even if you are only bringing one dog, so we can advise on the most suitable properties and confirm that your particular breed is welcome.
All properties include bed linen, towels, and a full electricity and heating allowance in the price. A starter pack of logs or fuel is provided where relevant. Most cottages include broadband Wi-Fi. Welcome information packs, local guides, and our own handwritten recommendations are in every property. There are no hidden charges — everything is clearly stated in your booking confirmation.
During the peak summer season (July and August) most cottages operate Saturday-to-Saturday changeovers. Outside of peak season we offer far more flexibility, including Friday arrivals, midweek short breaks from three nights, and rolling seven-night lets that begin on your chosen day. Give us a ring and we will find something that works for your travel plans.
June, July, and August offer the warmest weather and the best chance of calm seas for watersports. May and September are often the locals' favourites — quieter, good weather, puffins still on Skomer, and prices are lower. October is stunning for coast path walking: dramatic light, rough seas, and the crowds have entirely vanished. We are completely honest about what each season offers.
Pembrokeshire is brilliant for families. Tenby's harbour beach is famously child-friendly with lifeguards in season. Barafundle Bay is consistently rated among Britain's best family beaches. Many cottages have enclosed gardens and are available with travel cots and highchairs on request. We can advise on the best properties and locations based on the ages of your children.
Yes — several of our properties have been adapted for guests with limited mobility, including ground-floor bedrooms, wet-room showers, wider doorways, and level access. Please describe your specific requirements when you enquire and we will be completely honest about which cottages are genuinely suitable. We do not retrofit normal properties with the accessibility label.

Last-minute availability & special offers
