Four purpose-built lakes set in the rolling Pembrokeshire countryside near Tavernspite. Forty years of careful management have created some of the finest coarse fishing in West Wales. Whether you're a seasoned match angler or bringing the family for a quiet afternoon, there's a lake and a swim for you.
What began in 1984 as a single farm pond has grown into one of Pembrokeshire's most respected coarse fisheries. Four decades of careful lake management, selective stocking, and a genuine passion for angling have shaped this corner of Tavernspite into something truly special.
Run by the same family since day one, this is a fishery that puts the water first. Healthy fish, clean banks, and a commitment to sustainable angling that has kept regulars coming back for generations.
Four purpose-built lakes, each with its own character. From the specimen carp lake for serious anglers to the family-friendly pools stocked with eager silver fish, there's water here for every level of experience and ambition.
Set in the sheltered Pembrokeshire countryside, the lakes are surrounded by mature trees and hedgerows that provide natural wind breaks and a habitat for the abundant wildlife that shares this valley.
Twelve species available across the complex. Carp to double figures, tench averaging 4-5lb, quality bream shoals, and excellent silver fish throughout. Match bookings welcome, with platforms spaced generously for comfort.
Whether you prefer float fishing in the margins, feeder tactics at range, or surface stalking on warm summer evenings, there's always something feeding and always a new challenge waiting.
The crown jewel of the fishery. A mature, tree-lined lake stocked with quality carp running to low doubles, specimen tench to 6lb, and quality bream. Pegs are well-spaced for privacy, with deeper water features and marginal shelves that reward patient, thoughtful angling.
Purpose-built for match fishing with evenly-spaced, level platforms and consistent depths. Well-stocked with a mix of species that ensures lively sport on any method. Regular club and open matches held throughout the season. Excellent pole fishing to the island.
A smaller, shallower pool perfect for young anglers and beginners. Heavily stocked with willing silver fish, small carp, and rudd that will keep floats dipping all day. Safe, accessible banks with parking nearby. Bait and basic tackle available on site.
Tucked away among mature oaks and alders, this intimate pool offers a more natural, wild fishing experience. Crucian carp, tench, and perch patrol the margins between lily pads and overhanging branches. For anglers who prefer solitude and the sounds of nature.
Over twelve coarse fish species are present across the four lakes. The fishery is carefully managed to maintain healthy, well-conditioned fish stocks. Regular stocking, habitat management, and responsible angling practices ensure quality fishing year after year.

The lakes come alive as water temperatures rise. Tench begin spawning, carp start moving into the shallows, and the bream shoals reappear. Early mornings and late evenings produce the best sport.
Peak season. Long days, warm water, and hungry fish. Surface fishing for carp is electric. The Family Pool fishes superbly for silver fish. Evening sessions are magical as bats emerge over the water.
Fish feed hard before winter. This is when the biggest specimens are caught as carp and tench pack on weight. Stunning autumn colours surround the Woodland Pool. Match weights peak.
Quieter but rewarding for the dedicated angler. Perch and pike come into their own. Small baits, light tackle, and patience are the order of the day. Often have the water to yourself.
Best kept fishery in Pembrokeshire by a mile. The specimen lake is outstanding. Caught my personal best mirror carp here last summer. Always well maintained and the owner is proper knowledgeable.
Took my grandchildren for their first fishing trip. The family pool was perfect. They were catching within minutes and didn't want to leave. Bait available on site which was a lifesaver. Brilliant place.
We hold our club matches here regularly. The match lake is fair, well-pegged, and the fish are in superb condition. Can't ask for more than that. Good weights guaranteed whatever the weather.
