The Story

What began in 1984 as a single farm pond has grown into one of Pembrokeshire's most respected coarse fisheries. Four decades of careful lake management, selective stocking, and a genuine passion for angling have shaped this corner of Tavernspite into something truly special.

Run by the same family since day one, this is a fishery that puts the water first. Healthy fish, clean banks, and a commitment to sustainable angling that has kept regulars coming back for generations.

Set in the sheltered Pembrokeshire countryside, the lakes are surrounded by mature trees and hedgerows that provide natural wind breaks and a habitat for the abundant wildlife that shares this valley.

Fishery Rules

Respect the water, respect the fish
01
Barbless hooks only across all lakes. No exceptions. This protects our fish stock and ensures healthy returns.
02
Landing nets and unhooking mats must be used for all carp. Available to borrow if you don't have your own.
03
No keepnets except during organised matches. All fish to be returned to the water immediately and carefully.
04
No litter. Take everything home with you. Discarded line is lethal to wildlife. Cut and bin all waste line.
05
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Life jackets available on request.
06
No fires or barbecues. Please respect the countryside. Camping stoves permitted for night fishing sessions only.
07
Dogs welcome but must be kept on leads at all times and away from the water's edge. Clean up after your pet.
08
Groundbait in moderation. Excessive loose feeding damages the water quality. The bailiff's decision is final.
09
Report any fish health issues to the bailiff immediately. Our fish welfare is our highest priority.

Best kept fishery in Pembrokeshire by a mile. The specimen lake is outstanding. Caught my personal best mirror carp here last summer. Always well maintained and the owner is proper knowledgeable.

"

Took my grandchildren for their first fishing trip. The family pool was perfect. They were catching within minutes and didn't want to leave. Bait available on site which was a lifesaver. Brilliant place.

Family Visitor, Tenby
"

We hold our club matches here regularly. The match lake is fair, well-pegged, and the fish are in superb condition. Can't ask for more than that. Good weights guaranteed whatever the weather.
