Our Story
Where the Medina
meets the Ceredigion Coast
Medina was born from a love of Moroccan hospitality — the belief that a meal
is more than food. It is warmth, conversation, colour and time shared around a table.
Since opening our doors in the centre of Aberystwyth, we have welcomed guests
from Ceredigion, across Wales and far beyond.
Our kitchen draws on the traditions of Fez, Marrakech and the coastal towns
of the Mediterranean. Spices are ground fresh. Tagines are cooked slowly in
hand-thrown clay pots. Mezze platters arrive laden and generous. Every element
of the menu has been considered with care.
Aberystwyth is a town that embraces the unexpected — a university town,
a creative town, a town that looks out to sea. Medina found its home here
naturally. We are proud to be part of this community, and prouder still to
bring a little piece of North Africa to the West Wales coast.
