Four individually styled rooms · Full Welsh breakfast · Beautiful gardens
Tucked into the gentle hills of Pembrokeshire, Little Castle Grove is a lovingly maintained period guest house offering a calm, characterful base from which to explore one of Wales's most beguiling counties.
Each of our four bedrooms has been thoughtfully decorated in its own distinct style, blending the charm of the original architecture with contemporary comforts. Guests wake each morning to the aroma of a freshly prepared full Welsh breakfast, served in our light-filled dining room overlooking the gardens.
Narberth town — with its independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants — is a short stroll away. Bluestone National Park Resort, Oakwood Theme Park and the wild Pembrokeshire Coast are all within easy reach.
Every room at Little Castle Grove has been furnished and decorated with individual care, drawing on the history and natural beauty of the surrounding Pembrokeshire landscape.
Named for the ancient Preseli Hills, this generous double room is dressed in deep slate and heather tones. A king-size bed, bay window seat and views across the garden make it a true haven.
Our most spacious room, the Narberth Suite occupies a corner of the first floor with original sash windows on two aspects. Furnished in warm ivory and antique gold, it includes a separate sitting area and a roll-top bath.
Inspired by the Pembrokeshire coastline, this bright and airy double room features soft sea-blue and driftwood tones, a walk-in rainfall shower and a pair of armchairs beside the fireplace.
Found on the ground floor with direct access to the terrace, the Garden Room is ideal for those who want to step straight into the outdoors. Furnished in soft sage and rose, with a private shower room adjacent.
Heather, slate and the quiet grandeur of the ancient hills — that is the spirit of the Preseli Room. A king-size bed dressed in crisp Welsh cotton sits beneath the original ceiling rose, and a generously padded window seat affords views across the rear garden in all its seasonal glory.
The en-suite shower room is finished in warm stone tiling with Bramley & White toiletries. Tea and ground coffee, a selection of Welsh biscuits, and a flat-screen television complete the picture.
Our grandest room and the only one with its own sitting area, the Narberth Suite commands a corner position on the first floor. Original sash windows — fully restored — face east and south, flooding the space with morning light. The suite is decorated in warm ivory, antique gold and aged linen, with an original fireplace as its focal point.
The bathroom is a particular delight: a freestanding roll-top bath on original tiled floors, a separate walk-in shower, and a marble-topped vanity. This is the room for anniversaries, honeymoons, or simply treating yourself properly.
Pale driftwood, washed blue-grey and the soft whites of breaking surf — the Coastal Room brings the Pembrokeshire coast inside. A generous king-size bed faces the window, framed by linen drapes that catch the breeze on summer evenings. Two worn-leather armchairs flank a cast-iron fireplace that makes the room particularly welcoming in the cooler months.
The en-suite features a large walk-in rainfall shower with pebble-mosaic tiling, a deep basin and Bramley & White coastal-inspired bath products. A Roberts radio and a carefully curated selection of local guidebooks complete the atmosphere.
Situated on the ground floor and opening directly onto the stone terrace through French doors, the Garden Room is the closest you will get to sleeping in the garden itself. Decorated in soft sage, warm rose and natural linen, it is a calm, unpretentious space — equally suited to walkers returning from a long day on the Preseli Hills as it is to families arriving with bicycles.
The room can be configured as a twin or double, making it a flexible choice for friends travelling together or couples who appreciate ground-floor ease. A private shower room — with underfloor heating — is directly adjacent.
Breakfast at Little Castle Grove is more than a meal — it is a ritual. Prepared fresh each morning and served between 8 and 9.30, it draws on the best that Pembrokeshire's producers have to offer.
We source our bacon and sausages from a local butcher in Narberth, our eggs from a farm two miles down the road, and our bread from an artisan bakery in the town. Welsh laverbread and cockles are always on the table for those who want the full, authentic experience.
Whether you prefer a full cooked plate or something lighter — porridge with local honey, fresh fruit, or proper Welsh rarebit — we will set you up for wherever the day is taking you.
Dietary requirements are warmly accommodated — please do let us know when you book. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are readily available.
Breakfast is served 08:00 – 09:30, seven days a week. The gardens at Little Castle Grove are a source of quiet pleasure throughout the seasons — from the first snowdrops of February to the last roses of October.
A broad flagstone terrace adjoins the house, furnished with teak chairs and a table for enjoying breakfast outside on fine mornings or a glass of something at dusk.
A walled enclosure planted entirely with heritage climbing and shrub roses, reaching their peak from June through August and filling the garden with fragrance.
A short informal walk through our small orchard of heritage apple and pear trees, connecting the terrace to the rear meadow and the countryside beyond the boundary wall.
We do a small number of things and we try to do each of them very well.
Little Castle Grove is owner-run. When you arrive, you are greeted by the people who have thought about your stay, prepared your room and will cook your breakfast. There is no reception desk, no check-in queue — just a cup of tea and a genuine welcome.
Rather than matching interiors across all four rooms, we have furnished each one individually, with pieces collected over time and chosen for their character. Nothing is off-the-shelf; every room has its own atmosphere and story to tell.
Narberth is widely regarded as one of the most pleasant small towns in Wales. From Little Castle Grove, the town's independent shops, galleries and restaurants are five minutes on foot. The Pembrokeshire Coast, Bluestone and Oakwood are all within a short drive.
We make no apologies for the importance we place on breakfast. It is a proper meal, made from local produce, and it sets the tone for the rest of the day. Guests often tell us it is the best breakfast they have had in Wales.
From the Welsh wool blanket folded at the end of your bed to the Roberts radio on the window ledge and the locally sourced biscuits in your room, the details at Little Castle Grove are the result of years of paying attention to what guests actually enjoy.
The house sits in a quiet residential road on the edge of Narberth, surrounded by mature gardens and facing open countryside. It is peaceful in the truest sense — and yet the town, with all its life and colour, is a short walk away.
Little Castle Grove occupies one of the most enviable positions in Pembrokeshire — close enough to everything to make days out effortless, and quiet enough to make coming home feel like a treat.
One of Wales's finest market towns, Narberth has a thriving independent high street, excellent restaurants, a programme of festivals and a lovely castle ruin at its heart. The weekly market is not to be missed.
Set within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Bluestone offers spa facilities, adventure activities, woodland lodges and an indoor water park. A popular choice for families and groups at any time of year.
Wales's largest theme park, with a range of rides, attractions and shows suitable for all ages. Particularly well-suited for families with children. Season runs from spring through autumn.
186 miles of National Trail hugging one of Britain's most dramatic coastlines. Any section of the path is easily reached within twenty minutes by car, and the walking is exceptional in both directions.
Pembrokeshire's most celebrated seaside town, with its medieval walls, four beaches, colourful Georgian houses and the island of Caldey visible just offshore. A day trip classic.
Britain's smallest city, built around one of the great medieval cathedrals of Wales. The St Davids Peninsula beyond offers some of the wildest and most beautiful coastal walking in the country.
The source of the Stonehenge bluestones and the inspiration for our own Preseli Room, these ancient hills offer wild walking, prehistoric monuments and extraordinary 360-degree views across Pembrokeshire.
A magnificent ruined castle on the banks of the Carew River, with a Norman mill and a Celtic cross that is among the finest in Wales. Ideal for a half-day's exploration.
A charming harbour village with a sandy beach, independent restaurants along the quayside, and a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that makes it a favourite for return visits.

Get in TouchThe most beautiful B&B we have ever stayed in. The Narberth Suite was extraordinary — the roll-top bath, the fireplace, the morning light through those old windows. We have already booked to return next spring.
We stayed in the Garden Room with my mother, who has mobility difficulties. The ground-floor location and the thoughtful layout made everything completely effortless. The breakfast was magnificent — proper Welsh laverbread and everything cooked to order.
We used Little Castle Grove as a base for walking the Preseli Hills and visiting Bluestone. Perfect location for both. The owners went out of their way to give us tips on routes and restaurant bookings. Feels genuinely like staying with friends rather than in a hotel.
Three nights in the Coastal Room for our anniversary. We cannot fault a single detail. The room is beautiful, the breakfast is exceptional, the gardens are a delight and Narberth itself is a wonderful town. Little Castle Grove is the best accommodation we have found in Pembrokeshire.
Wonderful hosts, wonderful house, wonderful part of the world. We arrived tired from the drive and were immediately given tea and cake by the fire. By the time we left two days later, it felt like home. We will be back.
Stayed in the Preseli Room in November and found it completely magical. The fire in the lounge, the dark evenings, the breakfast with candles on the table. There is a very special atmosphere at Little Castle Grove that you simply do not find in hotels.
