A warm, independent cafe where good food and great coffee come together. Brunch, lunch, homemade cakes and speciality coffee — served with genuine friendliness, every single day.
"The kind of place you want to come back to every morning."
A regular guestHome Cafe was born from a simple idea: that eating out should feel like being welcomed into someone's kitchen, not processed through a production line.
Nestled in the heart of Aberystwyth on the Ceredigion coast, we set out to create a cafe that lives up to its name. Every detail — from the warm lighting to the food on the plate — is chosen with that feeling of home in mind.
We cook honest, nourishing food using good ingredients. Our bakes are made here, in our kitchen, not delivered in plastic trays from a central depot. Our coffee is sourced with care, roasted by people we know, and prepared properly — because you deserve better than a tired, bitter cup.
We are not a chain. Every pound spent here stays local, supports our team, and goes back into making this place better.
Our kitchen is run by people who genuinely love what they do. Seasonal ingredients, tried-and-tested recipes, and the occasional brilliant special.
Whether you are a local stopping in for your morning coffee or a visitor discovering Aberystwyth for the first time, we are glad you are here.
We believe the cup in your hand should taste as good as the moment you are sitting in. Our beans are sourced from quality-focused roasters and brewed with care.
We source our espresso beans from independent roasters who share our values — small batches, traceable origins and an obsession with flavour. Our house espresso blend is rich and smooth with a natural sweetness that means you will not need to reach for the sugar.
We rotate our single origin filter coffees throughout the year, following the harvest seasons from East Africa to Latin America. Ask us what is on the batch brew today.
Everything on the cake counter is made here, by us, on the day. What you see is what was baked this morning.
Three-layer spiced carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and toasted walnuts. Reliably the first to sell out.
Deeply fudgy, crinkled on top, 70% dark chocolate throughout. Served at room temperature for maximum richness.
Moist, dense banana loaf with a hint of cinnamon. A cup of tea and a slice of this is honestly one of life's small pleasures.
Baked fresh every morning. Served with Cornish clotted cream and house strawberry jam. Fluffy, buttery, essential.
Proper oat flapjack — golden, buttery and generously portioned. Chewy in the middle with a slight crunch at the edges.
Something different on the counter every single day — lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge, coffee and walnut, fruit cake. Ask us what today brings.
Buttery croissants, pain au chocolat and almond pastries. Available in the morning while stocks last.
Big, thick, slightly underbaked chocolate chip cookies. Also available in oat and raisin, and a double chocolate version.
We always have at least one certified gluten-free option on the counter. Ask what it is today — it changes with the season.
We believe plant-based food deserves the same care and creativity as anything else on the menu. Not an afterthought. Not a reluctant concession. Proper food.
Many of our most popular dishes are already vegetarian or vegan. We label everything clearly so you always know what you are ordering, and our team are happy to talk through any dish on the menu.
We use separate utensils and surfaces for vegan preparation. If you have specific concerns about cross-contamination, please let us know and we will take extra care.
Avocado on Sourdough Toast
With chilli, lemon and sea salt. Add poached egg to make it veggie.
Shakshuka

Roasted veg, grains, hummus, pickled slaw, tahini. Hearty and satisfying.
Banana Loaf
Our house banana loaf is fully vegan. No compromises on flavour.
Vegan Brownie
Rich dark chocolate, no dairy. You would not know the difference.
Plant Milk at No Extra Charge
Oat, soya, almond or coconut — all free to substitute in any hot drink.
"Absolutely the best brunch in Aberystwyth, and I have tried them all. The Full Home is spectacular — everything cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. Friendly staff who make you feel genuinely welcome the moment you walk through the door."
"As a vegan, I am used to picking at side dishes or eating dry toast while everyone else gets the good stuff. Not here. The Buddha Bowl is phenomenal and the banana loaf is the best I have had anywhere. Finally, a cafe that gets it."
"We stumbled in out of the Welsh rain and stayed for two hours. The coffee is outstanding — proper speciality stuff, not the burnt supermarket blend you get everywhere else. The carrot cake kept me going for the rest of the walk. Brilliant place."
Home Cafe is designed to feel exactly like the name suggests — warm, unhurried and genuinely welcoming. Mismatched chairs, well-worn tables, soft lighting, and the constant, comforting background hum of a kitchen in good use.
We have seating for groups, corners for couples, and window spots for those who like to watch the world go by over a good cup of coffee. There is no rush here. Order when you are ready, stay as long as you need.
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. We keep a water bowl by the door.
Good reliable connection throughout. Password at the counter.
Step-free entrance. Accessible toilet available. Please ask if you need assistance.
High chairs available. Children's menu. Space for buggies. We love a family visit.
Our specials board changes with the seasons, the market, and whatever our kitchen team is excited about. From autumn soups to summer salads, there is always a reason to come back.
We are in the heart of Aberystwyth — a short walk from the promenade, the pier and the university. Drop in, no booking needed.
