Workout of the Day
Each day brings a new challenge. WODs combine functional movements into timed or scored workouts that test your capacity across every physical domain. No two days are the same — that is the point.
View Schedule →CrossFit Llanelli is Carmarthenshire's dedicated CrossFit box. Expert coaching, purposeful programming, and a community that pushes you further than you thought possible — whatever your level.
CrossFit Llanelli is the dedicated CrossFit box at the heart of Carmarthenshire. We opened our doors to give West Wales a proper training environment — one built around community, quality coaching, and measurable results.
Whether you have never lifted a barbell in your life or you have been training for years, our coaches will meet you exactly where you are. Every movement is scalable, every class is welcoming, and every workout is designed to make you fitter, stronger, and more resilient than the day before.
We are an officially affiliated CrossFit box, which means our coaches hold CrossFit-recognised certifications and our programming follows the tried-and-tested CrossFit methodology — constantly varied functional movement, performed at high intensity, across a broad range of time and modal domains.
Every workout modified to match your ability — no experience required.
Every session led by a qualified, certified CrossFit coach.
Programming designed around measurable, progressive improvement.
People who show up for each other — inside the box and out.
CrossFit's methodology draws from multiple disciplines. At CrossFit Llanelli, we develop all four — because real-world fitness demands more than one skill.

View Schedule →The snatch and clean-and-jerk are the pinnacle of strength, speed, and technique. Our dedicated Olympic lifting sessions break down each movement with expert instruction, helping you build power from the floor up — safely and progressively.
View Schedule →Bodyweight mastery is fundamental to CrossFit performance. Pull-ups, handstands, muscle-ups, ring work and more — our gymnastics programming builds the body control, midline stability, and relative strength that power everything else.
View Schedule →Metabolic conditioning — or "metcon" — is the engine room of CrossFit fitness. Rowing, cycling, running, kettlebells and more combine into high-intensity work that builds the cardiovascular and respiratory endurance that underpins everything.

Beginners
New to CrossFit? Start here. Foundations is our six-session introductory course that teaches the nine fundamental movements before you join regular classes. You will learn the squat, the press, the deadlift, and their Olympic lifting derivatives — all with personalised coaching in a small-group environment. By the end, you will walk into your first WOD with genuine confidence and solid technique.
General Fitness
The backbone of everything we do. Daily group classes run 60 minutes and include a coached warm-up, skill or strength work, the WOD, and a cool-down. Classes are programmed to balance intensity and recovery across the week. Every movement is scalable — whether you are scaling down as a beginner or scaling up as an experienced athlete, the coach will guide you to the right version for you.
Strength Focus
For athletes who want to develop their snatch, clean, and jerk beyond what the regular WOD provides. Barbell Club runs twice weekly and follows a periodised 12-week programme that builds strength, technique, and confidence with the bar. Ideal for CrossFit members who want to compete, or anyone who wants to become seriously proficient at Olympic lifting.
Competition
Love competing? CrossFit Llanelli fields teams at regional competitions and the CrossFit Open each year. Our competition programme is open to athletes who want structured training for the Open, online competitions, and in-person throwdowns. Extra coaching, movement analysis, strategy sessions, and a tight-knit team atmosphere for those who want to push their limits on the leaderboard.
WOD stands for Workout of the Day. It is the centrepiece of CrossFit training — a structured workout that changes daily and is shared by every member at the box. The WOD is the great equaliser: beginners and experienced athletes complete the same movements (scaled appropriately) and share the experience of pushing hard together.
Every class opens with a coached warm-up tailored to the day's movements. Mobility, activation, and movement prep — never wasted time.
Before the WOD, each class includes dedicated skill development or strength work. This is where technique is built methodically.
The main event. Timed, scored, and scaled to your level. Completed as a group with coaching cues throughout.
Class closes with stretching, breathing, and a brief debrief. Log your score and track your progress over time.

The thing that separates CrossFit from every other training methodology is the people. When you train alongside others who are pushing just as hard as you, something shifts. You go harder than you ever would alone. You celebrate their achievements. They celebrate yours. That is the CrossFit Llanelli community.
We are rooted in West Wales and proud of it. Our members are teachers, nurses, farmers, parents, students, and everyone in between. What they share is a belief that consistent, hard work — in a supportive environment — changes lives.
You are never just a face in the crowd. Our coaches know your strengths, your goals, and what you need to hear on a hard day.
From the CrossFit Open to box throwdowns and social gatherings, there is always something happening outside the WOD.
Every athlete in this box started somewhere. We celebrate effort, progress, and showing up — regardless of where you are today.

"I walked in completely out of shape and terrified. Within a month I was looking forward to every class. The coaches genuinely care about your progress, and the community here is like nothing else I have experienced at a gym. Eighteen months later and I am doing movements I never thought possible."
"Rhys and the team run a professional, well-organised box. The programming is thoughtful — you can see the periodisation working across the weeks. I have been CrossFitting for six years and this is the best-coached box I have trained at. The Olympic lifting sessions especially are top-notch."
"I dropped in while visiting family in Llanelli and was made to feel instantly welcome. The session was hard, the coaching was excellent, and I left wishing I lived closer. If you are visiting West Wales and you train CrossFit, do not miss the opportunity to come here."
"Sian's gymnastics classes changed my training completely. I had been stuck on ring muscle-ups for two years. After six weeks of focused gymnastics sessions I had them. She has an incredible ability to diagnose what is holding you back and give you the exact drill to fix it."
"As a 52-year-old who had never done anything like this before, I was nervous about starting. Ceri's Foundations course was exactly what I needed — it is perfectly paced and left me feeling confident going into my first group class. Now I come five times a week. It is the best thing I have done for myself in years."
"Our company put together a team for a local throwdown and CrossFit Llanelli coached us through the preparation. The programming, the attention to detail, the support on competition day — it was genuinely first class. We came third and we were absolutely delighted. Cannot recommend this box highly enough."
Do I need to be fit to start CrossFit?
Absolutely not. CrossFit is designed to be scalable to any level of fitness. Every movement in every workout can be modified to suit where you are right now. You do not need to be fit to start CrossFit — you start CrossFit to get fit. Our Foundations course is specifically designed to bring complete beginners up to speed safely and confidently.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable gym kit you can move freely in — shorts or leggings, a t-shirt, and supportive trainers. We recommend flat-soled shoes (cross-trainers or weightlifting shoes) for lifting days rather than thick-soled running shoes. Bring a water bottle and a small towel. Weightlifting shoes and jump ropes are available to borrow during Foundations.
Do I have to do the Foundations course?
If you are new to CrossFit, yes. Foundations is a requirement, not just a recommendation. It exists to protect you — the fundamental movements in CrossFit can cause injury if performed without proper technique, and Foundations gives you the coaching to learn them properly. Experienced CrossFitters joining from other affiliated boxes may be assessed and fast-tracked at the coach's discretion.
How many times per week should I train?
Most members train three to five times per week. For beginners, we typically recommend starting with three sessions and building from there as your body adapts. CrossFit programming is designed with a work-to-rest ratio in mind — recovery is part of the process. Your coach will help you find the frequency that is right for your goals and lifestyle.
Is CrossFit safe?
CrossFit is a high-intensity training programme and, like any form of exercise, carries some risk. However, properly coached CrossFit with appropriate scaling is no riskier than other forms of structured fitness training. The key word is "coached" — all of our classes are supervised by qualified coaches who monitor your technique, correct errors, and scale movements where needed. If you have any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions, please let us know before your first class.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes. All our standard memberships are monthly rolling with no minimum term. We simply ask for one calendar month's notice before cancellation — so if you give notice in April, your membership ends at the close of May. Memberships can be paused for travel, injury, or other valid reasons — speak to us directly and we will do what we can to help.
Are there classes for older adults or people returning from injury?
Yes. CrossFit is arguably the most age-friendly high-intensity training methodology because of its scalability. We have members in their 50s, 60s, and beyond training alongside members in their 20s — each at their own appropriate intensity. If you are returning from injury, please inform your coach before the class and they will provide appropriate modifications throughout the workout.
Do you offer personal training?
Yes. Several of our coaches offer one-to-one personal training sessions at the box, subject to availability. These are ideal for accelerating technique development, working on specific weaknesses, or preparing for a competition. Enquire directly via the contact form and we will match you with the most appropriate coach.
