Chapter One - The Beginning

Shaping Pembrokeshire's Landscapes

From the hills of Llangolman to coastlines of Pembrokeshire, we craft outdoor spaces that honour the land they stand on.

Chapter I

Rooted in Pembrokeshire Soil

Bluestone Landscaping was born from a deep understanding of the Pembrokeshire landscape — its character, its challenges, and its extraordinary beauty. Based in the quiet village of Llangolman, nestled in the Preseli Hills, we grew from a small fencing operation into one of the county's most trusted landscaping teams.

Our name draws from the ancient bluestones of the Preseli range — the same stones that were carried to Stonehenge thousands of years ago. Like those bluestones, our work is built to endure generations. Every fence post is driven with precision, every patio slab laid with intention.

We understand that in rural Pembrokeshire, your outdoor space is not a luxury — it is where you live. Where children play, where dogs run, where summers are spent. We build for real life, not for show.

Chapter II

The Art of Fencing

A fence is more than a boundary. In the rolling fields of Pembrokeshire, fencing defines the relationship between your land and the landscape beyond. We specialise in fencing solutions that respect the character of the Welsh countryside while providing the security and structure you need.

From traditional close-board fencing that weathers to a silver-grey beauty over the years, to contemporary slatted designs that frame views of the Preseli Hills, our fencing work is tailored to every site. We work with pressure-treated softwood, hardwoods, and composite materials — selecting what best suits the terrain, exposure, and your vision.

We handle the difficult terrain that others turn away from. Slopes, rock, clay, exposed coastal sites — Pembrokeshire throws everything at outdoor structures, and we know how to build for it.

Chapter III

Patios Built to Gather On

A patio is the heart of an outdoor home. It is where the barbecue smokes on August evenings, where morning tea tastes better, where the family gathers when the rain finally stops. We build patios that invite people to use them — not just look at them.

Our patio work spans natural stone, porcelain, Indian sandstone, and slate. We work with the colours of the Pembrokeshire landscape — honey golds, weathered greys, warm buffs — creating surfaces that feel like they have always belonged there.

Every patio begins with proper groundwork. Subbase preparation, drainage planning, and precise levelling ensure that your patio will not shift, sink, or pool water. We build the foundation as carefully as the surface, because longevity is not negotiable.

Chapter IV

Decking That Elevates

Decking transforms underused garden spaces into living areas. Particularly on sloped Pembrokeshire gardens — where flat ground is a rare commodity — a well-designed deck can unlock an entirely new outdoor room that was previously lost to the gradient.

We build in both treated softwood and modern composite decking materials. Composite decking has transformed the industry, offering the warmth and beauty of timber without the annual maintenance burden. No sanding, no staining, no splinters — just years of use in the Welsh weather.

Our decking designs incorporate integrated seating, planter boxes, lighting channels, and stepped levels that work with the natural contours of your garden. We build structures that feel intentional, not imposed — as though the deck grew naturally from the landscape around it.

The Journey

From First Conversation to Final Detail

Every project follows a clear path. No surprises, no hidden costs, no corners cut. Here is how we take your vision from idea to reality.

1

Site Visit and Conversation

We come to you. We walk your garden, understand the terrain, listen to what you want to achieve, and discuss the possibilities. No obligation, no pressure — just an honest conversation about your space.

2

Design and Quotation

We provide a detailed written quotation with a clear breakdown of materials, labour, and timeline. You know exactly what you are paying for and when each phase will happen. No vague estimates.

3

Preparation and Groundwork

Proper preparation is everything. We clear the site, prepare the subbase, handle drainage requirements, and ensure the foundation is right before any surface work begins. This is the work you cannot see — but it is the work that matters most.

4

Construction and Build

The build phase is where your space transforms. We keep the site tidy, communicate daily progress, and work efficiently to minimise disruption. We treat your property as we would our own.

5

Finishing and Handover

Final details make the difference. Jointing, sealing, cleaning, and a thorough walkthrough with you to ensure everything meets your expectations. We leave your space cleaner than we found it.

6

Aftercare and Support

Our relationship does not end at handover. We provide aftercare guidance, maintenance advice, and are always a phone call away if you have questions about your new outdoor space.

Chapter V

Built on Trust, Grown by Reputation

In Pembrokeshire, reputation is everything. With over 470 people following our work on Facebook and a growing portfolio of projects across the county, Bluestone Landscaping has earned its place through consistent quality and honest work.

We do not advertise heavily. Most of our work comes from recommendations — a neighbour sees a fence we built, a friend mentions the patio we laid, a family member passes on our name. That word-of-mouth trust is something we work hard to maintain with every single project.

Bluestone completely transformed our garden. We had a sloped, unusable space and they turned it into a beautiful two-level deck with stone steps. The attention to detail was exceptional — every joint perfect, every edge clean. Could not recommend them more highly.
Rhiannon and Gareth M.
Narberth, Pembrokeshire
We needed 40 metres of fencing replaced along a difficult hillside boundary. Other companies quoted but warned it would be problematic. Bluestone came, surveyed it properly, and built a fence that looks fantastic and handles the gradient beautifully. Professional from start to finish.
David T.
Maenclochog, Pembrokeshire
Our Indian sandstone patio has been down two winters now and still looks as good as the day it was laid. The drainage work they did underneath means we never get standing water, even after heavy rain. Worth every penny.
