Margherita
San Marzano tomato, fior di latte mozzarella, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil. The benchmark by which all other pizzas are measured.
Family recipes passed down through generations. Wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta, and the warmth of an Italian kitchen — right here in West Wales.
When the Agnelli family first opened their doors in Aberystwyth in the 1980s, they brought with them something no import could replicate: the genuine warmth and culinary soul of an Italian home kitchen.
In the decades since, little has changed — and that is precisely the point. The recipes are the same ones handed down through the family, refined over generations and protected with quiet pride. The dough for the pizza bases is prepared the same way it always has been. The ragu simmers for hours. The tiramisu is assembled fresh each day.
What has grown is the community around the table. Aberystwyth has embraced Agnelli's as its own, and the restaurant has, in turn, become part of the fabric of the town — a place where university students share their first proper Italian meal, where couples mark anniversaries, and where families return year after year.
We are a licensed restaurant. Whether you are celebrating with a bottle of Chianti or enjoying a quiet midweek dinner, we believe the right glass of wine makes everything taste a little better.
Every pizza begins with our slow-proved dough, stretched by hand and laid across the floor of our wood-fired oven. The result is a crust that is light, blistered, and deeply flavoured — the way it should be. Toppings are added with restraint, because the best pizzas are never overloaded.

Tomato, mozzarella, roasted courgette, aubergine, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and olives with a herbed olive oil drizzle. Garden-fresh and satisfying.
Gluten-free bases are available on request. All pizzas can be made vegetarian — please ask your server. A supplement of £1.50 applies to gluten-free bases.
Our pasta is prepared fresh each day using semolina, double zero flour, and free-range eggs. We shape it by hand, as it was always meant to be done.
All pasta dishes can be adapted for vegetarians and most can be made gluten-free with our alternative pasta. Please inform your server of any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering. Our kitchen handles nuts, dairy, gluten, and shellfish.

Step through the door at Agnelli's and you will notice, first of all, that nobody is in a hurry. The room is warm, the lighting is low, and the smell of wood smoke and garlic drifts from the kitchen. This is not a place for a quick bite — it is a place to settle in, open a bottle, and stay for the evening.
The interior reflects the character of the family who built it: honest, unpretentious, and full of personality. Dark wood tables, candles, and the occasional piece of Italian kitchenware collected over the years. Nothing is staged. Everything is genuinely there.
We seat roughly forty covers across the dining room, with a small bar area near the entrance for those who prefer to wait over an aperitivo. The kitchen is partially open — you will see and hear the pizzas going in and coming out.
We have been coming to Agnelli's since our student days in Aberystwyth in the nineties. Every time we visit the town, a dinner here is non-negotiable. The tiramisu is still the best I have ever tasted, and the welcome never changes — warm, genuine, and completely unhurried.
The Diavola is genuinely one of the finest pizzas I have eaten anywhere in the UK. The wood-fired crust is blistered just right, the toppings are restrained and balanced, and the heat from the ’nduja is real. I come back every time I visit Aber. Absolutely outstanding.
We took three generations of our family for my mother-in-law’s birthday dinner and could not have chosen better. The staff were brilliant with the children, the food arrived beautifully timed, and the Barolo was exceptional. A truly special evening. We will be back.
Whether you are celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or simply gathering the family together, Agnelli's is the kind of place that makes occasions feel special without trying too hard.
Let us help mark the occasion. We can arrange a special dessert, organise a set menu for larger parties, and ensure the evening unfolds exactly as you would like. Just get in touch in advance.
A quiet table, a good bottle of wine, and food that is made with care — sometimes that is all an anniversary needs. We will make sure your evening is unhurried and memorable.
We can accommodate groups of up to forty covers with advance notice. For parties of twelve or more we recommend a set menu — contact us and we will put together a selection that works for everyone.
